Aboriginal Art Shop is the ‘e commerce’ site for Raintree Aboriginal Fine Art Gallery, located in Darwin in the Australian tropics, in the very north of the Northern Territory (NT) in a region known as the Top End.
Established in 1986 by founder Shirley Collins, Raintree Aboriginal Fine Arts Gallery is the Top End’s only Aboriginal-owned and operated commercial gallery. Shirley’s mother’s country is Wurdaliya at Borroloola in the NT and her experience and involvement in the Aboriginal art industry spans over thirty years. During this time she witnessed the phenomenal rise of Aboriginal art on the national and international level, and the resulting rise in prominence of individual Aboriginal artists.
