A scrap car is a vehicle that has been declared as totaled by an insurance company, or is otherwise worthless. When a vehicle reaches the end of its life, it is typically sold to a salvage yard or auto recycler, where it is dismantled and the useful parts are sold off. The remains of the vehicle are then crushed and recycled.
