Activ was established in 1951 when a group of families came together because they believed their children living with intellectual disability deserved better. This fundamental belief in people is what still drives us today.
We focus on enabling and supporting people living with intellectual disability in their transition towards independence. We believe independence is the freedom to make choices about your own life, and take responsibility for those decisions.
