Basketball Australia is the governing and controlling body for the sport of basketball in Australia – overseeing the sport at all levels, from the grass roots to national teams and national leagues.Formed in 1939 (as the Australian Basketball Federation) the organisation was constituted in 1946. Basketball Australia became a member of FIBA in 1949 and was incorporated in 1982.

National Basketball League (CLUBS BASKETBALL) (SYDNEY) (Australia)
The National Basketball League is regarded as one of the premier basketball leagues in the world, and after a humble beginning, is today home to some of the world's best players.
In 1978, New South Wales Basketball president John Raschke sat with 10 interested parties in an unused aircraft hangar at Sydney Airport to discuss the formation of a national competition that would help the development of the sport throughout Australia.

In 2004/05 the Price Attack Women’s National Basketball League celebrated its 25th anniversary. We reflect on the history, the players, the uniforms and the stats that made the league one of the most respected basketball competitions in the world today.
THE BEGINNINGS…
On October 4 1980, delegates from six of Australia’s leading women’s basketball clubs - North Adelaide, West Adelaide and Glenelg from South Australia and CYMS, Telstars and St. Kilda from Victoria - met during the Australian Women’s Club Championship in Sydney.

Basketball Queensland (CLUBS BASKETBALL) (QUEENSLAND) (Australia)
Basketball Queensland was established in 1946, to join as a member of Basketball Australia, allowing participation in the first Australian Men's Championships. Basketball Queensland has three primary objectives:to administer the sport of Basketball throughout Queensland as the State Governing Body; to provide an avenue for players, coaches, officials and administrators to participate and develop through organised competitions and development programs; and to provide a quality entertainment opportunity for spectators.

Bullets Office & Training Facilities (CLUBS BASKETBALL) (QUEENSLAND) (Australia)
The Brisbane Bullets have three championships to their credit, winning in 1985, 1987 and 2006/07, they have also made trips to the Grand Final in 1984, 1986 and 1990. The Bullets teams of the mid to late 1980s grew the popularity of basketball in Brisbane, where sellouts at the 12,000 seat Boondall Entertainment Centre were a regular occurrence.
