Day SPA

A day spa is a place which people go to for therapist-administered personal bodycare treatments like massages and facials. On the lines of a beauty salon, it is only visited for the duration of the treatment. Day spas can be found at sites in airport terminals and are  called airport spas which also offer services for hair and nails. In contrast, a destination spa offers the same services in a hotel setting where people stay for a few days so different types of treatments can be experienced.

Some spas also offer a mobile day spa service where they come to you and the treatments are done in your home or hotel room.

Typical services:

• facials — facial cleansing

• massage —  remedial to relaxation styles

• waxing — removal of body hair with hot wax

• body treatments —  body wraps, aromatherapy, salt scrubs

• skin exfoliation — chemical peels and microdermabrasion

• manicures and pedicures

A medical spa is a descriptive term for any retail cosmetic medical business that is overseen by a medical professional, such as a medical doctor that offers non-surgical cosmetic 'medical' treatments. Medical spas may offer additional treatments that can only be administered by licensed medical practitioners.
